Is it Spring yet?

May 2, 2018

Dear Bar Patrons:
How much are you enjoying our long days and lighter mornings?!?  Please read on for our exciting spring and summer news.

Client of the Month: Liz Aiken

During the frigid winter months in upstate NY, Liz dreamed of moving to the sunny state of California. She is happy to call Tahoe her home, and enjoys the majestic and natural beauty of the area. Liz loves dancing, being in nature, animals, the ocean, and baking delicious vegan treats! Liz feels stronger, more toned, and confident since she started taking classes at The Bar this past November. The instructors are both inspirational and talented, and the classes are fun yet challenging. Liz is grateful to be a part of such an empowering community of individuals who empower and uplift one another, all while having fun at the same time!

Dr. Haworth is returning for his second workshop on Saturday, June 16 from 10:45-11:45 am.  He wants to know what you want to learn about, so please send in ideas to info@thebartahoe.com so he knows what to focus on.

Sweat it Out

Time Flies When You’re Having Fun

Can you believe The Bar will have been around 2 years this June?  In order to celebrate, we will be holding two Round Robin classes on Saturday, June 23: 8:15-9:45 & 10:00-11:30.  The classes will offer snippets of all of the classes we offer at The Bar, and they are free to you, your friends, your family, and the community, so spread the word.  We will also hold a cocktail party from 4-6 pm that afternoon to thank you all for being such wonderful clients.

Account Holds

As we’ve had an overwhelming amount of clients asking to hold accounts and/or change/extend accounts due to various reasons, we are no longer upholding these requests unless there are extenuating circumstances.  We offer several types of packages, so please plan accordingly.  Thank you for your understanding.

Schedule Changes

In order to add more evening classes, there is a possibility that The Bar will change its Monday and Wednesday schedule to: 4:00 pm, 5:15 pm and 6:30 pm.  Our 6:30 pm classes will be 45 minute TRX classes.  The Friday barre class would begin at 4:00 pm as well.  Feed back is welcome. Email us at info@thebartahoe.com with your input.

Ensync

The new spin studio is opening Wednesday May 9th!!  Class times to be announced soon.  Additionally, The Bar and Ensync will be offering a new 6 class package through both studio locations for $90; three classes will be for The Bar and three will be for spin classes.

 Jess’ Healthy Tip

Happy Spring, delights! Warmer days, increased time in our beautiful outdoor landscape, and a whole new abundance of fresh foods have arrived with the season.

Nothing compares to the juiciness of a raspberry brought to the table from your backyard. In addition to the unmatched benefits to your palate, growing your own food is a fun way to stay physically active, support the health of our environment, and save you money for all of the fun adventures ahead!

Below are some simple tips to support you as you embark on the nourishing journey of growing your own food:
* Most vegetable plants and seeds do best with at least six hours of light each day. Pick your gardening space accordingly.
* Set yourself up for success with quality soil. If you have any uncertainty, use a testing kit to see if your soil needs nutrient replenishment.
* Start small. Your garden can simply contain a few window boxes of fresh herbs or a couple of potted tomato plants.
* All growing environments are unique. Learn more about what foods thrive in our environment through the UC Master Gardener’s workshops that will be offered throughout this month and next month. Access the following link for details: http://ucanr.edu/sites/mglaketahoe/files/278132.pdf

Have a healthy, beautiful Spring!

Cheers,

The Bar Staff
