November Updates

Dear Bar Patrons,

We have officially been open one year at our current location- woo hoo! November is the month to focus on thankfulness, and boy are we thankful for all of you! We have lots of good things on our upcoming menu. Take a look!

November Client Of The Month! Janine Cunha

Meet Janine! Serenity Sedation Dental Anesthesia and Bemer distributor by day… family, friends, outdoor enthusiast, foodie, gardener, traveler, and barre student for life!

I am self-employed and my businesses allow me to do the things that I love. I have been married 37 years to a spectacular man. I have two outstanding and loving sons, two beautiful daughter-in laws and 2 grandchildren. I found barre class in the East Bay 8 years ago and was addicted.

I moved from the Bay Area 10 months ago to South Lake. Best move of my life! Reconnected with Robyn and was introduced to her studio as well as all of her fabulous instructor’s and challenging classes. I have never taken a dance class in my life, let alone, boot camp, cardio kickboxing, insanity class and body sculpt. The energy of the instructors and the genuine concern of form and technique is outstanding and they make the class fun and not so intimidating.

I love the sense of community here at The Bar encouraging my goal of health!

Halloween Hocus Pocus

Come take a Level 2 Barre class with Robyn at 4:15 pm and/or a Halloween themed Coyote Ugly class with Kassi at5:30 pm on Friday, October 27. Ghoulish drinks to follow. Costumes encouraged! PS: We are holding Barre at 4:15 and Boot Camp at 5:30 on Halloween!

Tuck Before You Turkey!

Want to workout on Thanksgiving before the cooking and eating commence? You can! Andrea will be teaching a FREE Barre class on Thanksgiving day at 8:15 am. All you have to do is bring a canned good to donate! Bring yourself, bring your visiting family members, bring anyone you can think of! It’s free! One can per person please. . . and you can always bring more than one if you want. . . you’ll get extra brownie points =)

Schedule Changes

Running a business is hard. My goal every day is to offer a wide variety of classes to all of you to help make you happier, healthier and stronger, and I believe that is the goal of all of my instructors as well. That said, it is difficult to keep small businesses afloat in small towns. So, in order to help keep The Bar floating, I’ve had to make some schedule adjustments. This isn’t to say that this will be permanent, but it’s what I have to do for now for the business. I hope you will all understand,

The following classes will be canceled/changed beginning Monday, October 30:

  • Tuesday and Thursday 8:15am Barre will be canceled (Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:15 classes will all be Barre)

  • Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9:30am classes will be canceled (Tuesday/Thursday 9:30am classes will be Barre)

  • Monday 6:30pm Barre class will be canceled

  • Wednesday 4:15pm will now be a Barre class

  • Wednesday 5:30pm will now be Boot Camp with Willie

  • For the time being, childcare will continue to be offered during the 9:30am classes, 5:30pm classes and Saturday 8:15am and 9:30am classes.

Everything else will remain as it is!

Bad Back?

Our own Julie Macan, physical therapist for Barton, will be doing her second workshop at the studio on Saturday, November 4 at 10:30 am on low backs! She will cover the following:

  • Do’s and Don’ts for more effective stretching

  • How to find and maintain a neutral spine

  • Learn the normal aging process of the spine and how to take care of your back for a lifetime

  • How to manage acute low back pain episodes

Open floor question and answer format. Julie will bring in props and we will be able to practice the stretches and exercises.

Cheers! The Bar
