Don't "Fall", Leap into October
Dear Bar Patrons,
It wouldn’t be fall in Tahoe without at least one snow storm! Let’s hope summer sticks around in September and October and gives us one more month before we have to pull up our snow boots and pull out our shovels. Read on to see what’s on tap for the month of October at The Bar. . .

October Client of the Month! Laura Harwood
Hello. My name is Laura Harwood and I am honored to be the second Client of the Month at The Bar. I have only taken Bar classes for about 3 months. I love the teachers at The Bar because they are super friendly and very encouraging. I am not the strongest or most graceful, but they notice when I do just a little bit better or lift my leg just a little bit higher or just plain show up. I really appreciate their encouragement. I did not come to the Bar already fit. I still don't feel super fit yet, but I keep coming and every week I feel just a little bit stronger and more flexible. I have gone to kickboxing and boot camp and insanity in addition to bar class. I love all the different classes that are available. The teachers are always welcoming to all the classes and there are modifications I can do for the more advanced moves so all classes can be done at any level.
I have lived in South Lake Tahoe for around 20 years. I am an accountant and sit at a desk for 9+ hours everyday, which means I have zero physical activity during the day. In my non-working time, I enjoy traveling and riding quads with my husband who is awesome. I have two grown children, a daughter who is 22 and a son who is 19. I used to be active (hiking, rock climbing, snow boarding), but in the last few years, I have not been so active. Since I have gone to Bar just over the last few months, I feel stronger and more flexible. I tell my husband all the time: Check me out. I can bend and touch my toes and look how high I can lift my leg. This is just the beginning. I look forward to more classes and improved health. Thank you, Bar ladies for encouraging me to just keep going.
